DALTON — Mickel David Jordan, 49, of 207 Fields Ave., was charged by the Dalton Police Department with reckless conduct by an HIV-infected person and simple assault. The virus can cause Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome, or AIDS. HIV/AIDS weakens a person’s ability to fight infections and cancer.

“The report on Mr. Jordan states that he was over at a friend’s apartment when they got into an argument, and during the course of that argument he spit in her face and also poured an alcoholic beverage on her hair,” said police spokesman Bruce Frazier.

Magistrate Court Judge Sidney Baxter gave Jordan a $5,000 bond on Saturday, but he was still at the county jail on Monday, a spokeswoman for the jail said.
