DALTON —
A Daily Citizen reader called The Forum recently and discussed Constitution Day and the need to recognize it.
The Dalton-Whitfield Public Library has, in fact, been planning a very special program to take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 18, at the library at the corner of Cappes and Waugh streets in Dalton.
The program is specifically designed to highlight the Constitution and the founding of our country.
The program is designed for children, grades 3-6, but is open to individuals of all ages free of charge.
The program is part of our “We the People: A More Perfect Union” recognition this year.
Materials highlighted during this program include high quality books and a DVD on the early years of the United States.
We encourage all individuals, whether library card holders or not, to visit the library and enjoy this quality program.
The “We the People: A More Perfect Union” bookshelf is made possible by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities in cooperation with the American Library Association.
