Obama needs to focus on the war

To the editor:

Our military is not made up of toy soldiers.

We have a son who is in the U.S. Army. He is real, alive, flesh and blood. We are told he may have to deploy to Afghanistan. My concern is that our commander-in-chief has become distracted. Seemingly, he has left his little soldier figurines out in the backyard sandbox while he has gone into the house for milk and cookies.

I am sorry. I should be more respectful. The commander-in-chief is all grown up now, and he is a man. It may be more reflective of him to say he has gone into the house for beer and Combos.

Remember the soldiers. They are not plastic figurines to be tossed about as with the whim of a child. They are sons and daughters, mothers and fathers who volunteered to serve this great nation and bring freedom to the oppressed around the world.
