Obama, Dems a threat to America
To the editor:
Something became clear to me several months ago and I believe now to millions of Americans. Barack Obama and his administration and the Democrat leaders in Congress are intentionally trying to destroy most aspects of what has made this country great, particularly the economy.
First you have to understand that they all lie through their teeth when they speak to the public. The reasons for this are simple. The more people Obama, Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd and others get dependent on government, they think the more it will give them the long lasting voters to keep them in power. Pure and simple.
The other reason is to weaken and wreck our economy so that they can attempt to rebuild it into a European style socialist country. That’s what its all about folks. If you think Obama and the rest of the dogs in Washington actually give a hoot in Hades about your healthcare you are living in a fantasy world. It’s all about getting more votes to keep them in power, especially the Democrats. That’s also the one and only reason they want to give amnesty to illegal aliens (and believe me they will be trying that soon) along with more government handouts to them with our tax money.
There are three kinds of people who haven’t realized these things. First there are the people in this country who just don’t care. They are more concerned with who is going to be on the cover of People Magazine or who will win American Idol or something like that they deem important and relevant.
Then there are those who won’t put the effort into seeking the truthful information on what is in the legislation and bills the idiots in Congress are trying to cram down our throats. They seem to automatically believe everything that comes out of the mouths of the people who bring them the news on TV, not knowing that 90 percent of the news organizations have become political hacks and propagandists for Obama.
The third kind are the ones who blindly support Obama even tho they can clearly see the destruction he is bringing to the country. These people will never be capable of admitting to themselves or anyone else that they made a disastrous mistake by voting for Obama.
Step by step ,little by little the government is taking away what our founding documents have guaranteed us and passed down to us through the generations. Our freedoms and liberties. We have a so called president and Congress telling the rest of the millions of us what to do and the way its going to be whether we like it or not. That isn’t the way it works . We elect them to represent us and we tell them what to do and what we want.
The greatest threat to our freedoms and to our economy and to our society in these times does not come from outside our country. It comes from the inside, from our own government. Obama and this Democratic Congress are the greatest threat to these things that we have ever had as a government. I pray our people realize this before it’s too late and then we can draw the line.

Letter: Paper treated Deal unfairly
So I spent some time last weekend crafting a clear, concise letter to the editor comparing and contrasting the paper’s treatment of three prominent local figures who changed jobs.
-
Letter: Paper chose wrong picture, words
I was very disappointed with the way the paper displayed the front page story Saturday of the basketball finals.

Letter: Thank you Regency Park
As I begin to write this letter, I am still with a heavy heart. You see, on Saturday, Feb. 27, I lost an important part of my life. My mother and my friend, Mrs. DeeEtte Page Scott, departed this life to be with our heavenly father.

Letter: Students are fighting to protect higher education
The nearly $600 million in budget cuts proposed for the University System of Georgia struck a chord with me when I learned how the budget cuts would affect my region.

Letter: A road solution
I am not a rocket scientist nor an engineer, yet I have come up with a very simple solution for a bypass for the Highway 225 and the Alternate Highway 52 congestion. And I wasn’t paid $750,000 to do it, nor have I been influenced by any landowners along the way.

Letter: Say no to health care taxes
President Obama has put online his own proposal for health care. This time he cannot point his finger at the House, Senate, Republications or even Democrats when it fails. He will have to face the music for his legacy alone.

Letter: Become a marrow donor
A dear friend of mine, Mindy Blackwell, lost her battle with leukemia this past October. Mindy needed a bone marrow transplant and, out of millions on the registry, there was not a match for her. She lived six days short of a year from her diagnosis. Mindy is the inspiration for Studio One Hair Designs hosting a Bone Marrow Donor Drive. It is our goal to help grow “Be The Match Registry,” the national bone marrow donor registry, so that one day anyone in need of a transplant will have a matching donor.

Can someone help get the lights on
Christmas morning, 2009, wake up, Merry Christmas. Oh, no! There is no electricity all day long, no power. It’s nothing new. I got up this morning, Feb. 19, 2010, to go to work and yup, once again, no power.
