Letter: Support group to help disabled individuals

A new support group is starting in Dalton-Whitfield County named Citizens with Disabilities Association of Dalton-Whitfield County.

The purpose of this support group is to encourage, uplift and help any individual with a disability. Because in most cases a disability has happened suddenly, and unexpectedly, and the life of that individual is changed forever, it can lead to depression, low self-esteem and no confidence, and the disability can make the individual feel like he or she is a failure, but all of this is totally false. A disabled individual can be productive, successful and have a happy life.

This support group will help the disabled individual do just that. The first meeting will be Jan. 12 at 6 p.m. in the Greater St. James Overcoming Church of God Fellowship Hall, 314 N. Fredrick St. For more information, call (706) 529-6740.
