Griffin earns Extra Mile Award

CALHOUN — Physical Therapist Nick Griffin has been awarded Gordon Hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to a deserving employee selected by the hospital’s directors.

Griffin is employed as a physical therapist with Gordon Home Care, the home health service of Gordon Hospital.

“Nick is a great clinician,” says Candy Van Dyke, director of Gordon Home Care. “His patients appreciate his skills in getting them to accomplish their goals related to therapy and giving them a new lease on life just by encouraging and counseling them during his therapy sessions. Nick is one of those employees that make you feel good knowing he is out there caring for our patients.”

Griffin, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for one and a half years, says he is honored to receive the award.

“I am very honored, first of all, to be part of such a great organization with a great mission,” Griffin says. “The award is just a confirmation that I am where the Lord wants me.”

Griffin earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise Science from the University of Georgia and a Master’s Degree in physical therapy from the Medical College of Georgia. He and his wife, Carrie, reside in Rome with their two children, Carter, 4, and Kali, 1. During his spare time, he enjoys golf.
