CALHOUN —
Gordon Hospital Foundation’s 5th Annual Golf Classic raised $32,125 for the hospital’s new Radiation Therapy Center, which will be built on the hospital’s campus. The Center will offer radiation therapy for the pinpoint treatment of cancer, and when completed, patients will no longer need to leave Gordon County to receive this vital service. The Radiation Therapy Center is now being planned and architectural drawings are underway. The hospital hopes to break ground in early spring with a completion date by the end of 2012.
The event, which was held at Barnsley Gardens, featured more than 100 golfers coming together for this worthy cause. “It was a beautiful day and all the golfers had a great time,” says Judy Jackson, director of development at Gordon Hospital. “This was our fifth year hosting the event and it was one of our most successful.
