CALHOUN —
Ana Lopez has been awarded Gordon Hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.
This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to a deserving employee selected by the hospital’s directors.
Lopez is employed in the Housekeeping Department at the hospital and holds an accounting degree from her country of origin, Honduras.
“Ana is outstanding in the care of our patients,” says Carolyn Brooks, housekeeping supervisor. “She goes above and beyond her duties.”
Lopez, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for four years, says she is very appreciative for the recognition.
“I am honored to receive this award,” Lopez says. “I am very happy to be a part of Gordon Hospital.”
Lopez resides in Calhoun and has two daughters, ages 25 and 18. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, listening to music, and dancing.
