Bloodworth earns Extra Mile Award at Gordon Hospital

CALHOUN — Missy Bloodworth, chief pharmacy technician for Gordon Hospital, has been awarded the hospital’s prestigious Extra Mile Award.

This special award was created by members of the hospital’s Employee Engagement Committee to recognize employees who go above and beyond the call of duty on a regular basis. It is awarded monthly to a deserving employee selected by the hospital’s directors.

“There are so many employees that deserve this award,” said Bloodworth, who has been employed by Gordon Hospital for 17 years. “I am so blessed to work among people that continually go the extra mile. I feel very honored to be chosen for this award.”

According to Pharmacy Director George Seddon, Bloodworth is very deserving of the recognition.

“Missy handles one of the most challenging positions at Gordon Hospital with unequaled skill and grace,” Seddon said. “She balances the clinical function of the pharmacy with the financial and supply demands. Missy is the best.”

Bloodworth and her husband, Ricky, have been married for 17 years. She has a step-daughter, Tori. In her spare time, Bloodworth enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
