Memorial Health Care System announced a free educational webinar for oncology nurses and professionals who want to help cancer patients get the most out of their care. Attendees can register for the July 25, 2012, event at StrongAndSmart.org.
“Evidence tells us that when patients have someone to help navigate and support them through treatment their chances of receiving the best possible care dramatically improves,” said Joe Robb, Memorial Oncology Service Line Administrator. “By supporting the team of oncology professionals who help patients we can ultimately better our patient’s lives.”
Lynne Kinseth, director of Mercy Cancer Resource Center and Services, Mercy Medical Center, Des Moines, Iowa, will share her expertise and approach to the many aspects of being a nurse navigator.
Webinar highlights include:
· Exploring holistic approaches to navigation
· Reviewing case studies
· Framing navigation focused on holistic health
· Removing roadblocks to treatment
· Ensuring patients receive the support services they need
