Hamilton Sleep Disorder Center to hold open house

DALTON — Hamilton Medical Center’s Sleep Disorder Center, at Hamilton Diagnostics Center, 1407 N. Thornton Ave., will hold an open house on Thursday, March 11, from 8:30 to 5 p.m. in recognition of National Sleep Awareness Week, March 7-13.

The event will include sleep disorders information, training and free screenings. Refreshments will be provided.

Hamilton’s Sleep Disorders Center is equipped with the latest technology in diagnosing and treating sleep/wake disorders for children, adolescents and adults. Highly trained technologists are dedicated to identifying the causes of sleep problems and treating them.

Sleep disorders that cause morning headaches, high blood pressure, memory loss, depression and excessive sleepiness during the day can result in serious medical conditions.

“Fortunately, most if not all sleep disorders can be treated effectively,” said Lora Brown, clinical coordinator for the center.

In addition to the center at Hamilton Diagnostics, Hamilton has two other sleep center facilities, one on Chattanooga Avenue in Dalton and one on Hospital Drive in Chatsworth.

National Sleep Awareness Week is an annual public education and awareness campaign to promote the importance of sleep. The week ends with the clock change to Daylight Saving Time, where Americans lose one hour of sleep.

To set up a free screening or for more information, call the center at (706) 278-4757 or visit hamiltonhealth.com/sleep.
