CALHOUN —
If you are a high school or college student pursuing a career in the medical field, then you may want to take advantage of the Gordon Hospital Foundation scholarship. The Foundation is currently accepting applications for its nursing/allied health scholarships.
“The Gordon Hospital Foundation started offering these scholarships several years ago to help alleviate the nursing shortage the country is experiencing,” says Judy Jackson, director of Development Services at Gordon Hospital. “Anyone is eligible to apply as long as he or she is attending or has been accepted to an accredited nursing program and meets the April 5 deadline. All that we ask is that scholarship recipients work at Gordon Hospital for at least one year after graduating.”
The scholarships range from $1,000 to $2,000 for select students. Interested parties may log on to HYPERLINK "http://www.gordonhospital.com/" www.gordonhospital.com and find the application under the I Would Like To Menu. The deadline is April 5 at 5:00 p.m. Late entries will not be accepted. In addition to the web, applications are available at Gordon Hospital’s Development Office. Mail the completed application, school transcripts, and letters of recommendation to Judy Jackson, Gordon Hospital Foundation, P.O. Box 304, Calhoun, Ga., 30703-0304. If you have questions, please contact Jackson at 706.879.4744.
