Hamilton joins Phi Kappa Phi at Auburn
BATON ROUGE, La. — The Academic Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi is pleased to announce that Ian N. Hamilton, Jr, MD was recently initiated into the Phi Kappa Phi chapter at Auburn University. Dr Hamilton, son of Ian and Lansing Hamilton, is originally of Lookout Mountain, Ga., now resides in Ringgold and is a vascular surgeon with Comprehensive Vascular Care in Dalton. On May 9, Dr Hamilton graduated from the physician executive program at Auburn University with a Masters in Business Administration (MBA). Membership in Phi Kappa Phi is by invitation only and requires nomination and approval by a Chapter. Dr Hamilton is among a select group of graduate MBA students who are required to have a 4.0 GPA for invitation into the Auburn Chapter of Phi Kappa Phi each year. Founded in 1897 and headquartered in Baton Rouge, La., Phi Kappa Phi is the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society. The Society has chapters on more than 300 select colleges and universities in North America and the Philippines.
Dr Hamilton was also initiated into the International Business Honor Society of Beta Gamma Sigma as a result of his academic performance at Auburn. Only the best business students in the world are offered membership in Beta Gamma Sigma. Beta Gamma Sigma was founded as a national organization on February 19, 1913. The first national honor society in business was a merger of three separate societies established to honor academic achievement in business at the University of Wisconsin, University of Illinois and the University of California. With collegiate chapters on five continents, Beta Gamma Sigma today is truly an international society that remains dedicated to recognizing the most outstanding students of business and management.
