The Whitfield Healthcare Foundation’s 17th annual Golf Invitational held recently at The Farm raised $94,400 for Hamilton Medical Center’s Maternal and Infant care and Emergency Care Services renovation and expansion projects.
“The proceeds from this tournament bring us one step closer to meeting our $5 million Capital Campaign goal,” said Sharon Love, foundation director.
The team of Jack Bandy, Murray Bandy, Steve Crane and John Powell shot 55 to win the first flight victory. Finishing second was the team of Ron Harris, Gary Brock, Jeff Tatum and Ricky Lake. In third was the foursome of Werner Braun, Jeff Browne, John Draper and Rob Cushman.
“We are especially grateful to all the tournament sponsors as well as the 120 golfers who participated to make this year’s Invitational successful,” said Bryan McAllister, foundation chairman.
Emergency Coverage Corporation of TEAMHealth, Inc. once again stepped up to become the Presenting Sponsor for the tournament and Premier Sponsor was Sodexo Health Care Services.
In the second flight, the team of Tony Elrod, Jason Clark, Pat Brackett and Danny Ratcliff won first place. Werner Braun, Jeff Browne, Rob Cushman and Dan Rogers were second. Claiming third place were Gregg Causby, Lane Ashworth, Tim Britton and Wally Thompson.
First place in the third flight was awarded to Tim Pysell, Ronnie Colvard and David McKinney. Second place went to Jay Baumgardner, Jim Hazel, Mike Bowers and Nathan Phillips. Bill Bradbury, Jeff Berdis, Kerry Morrison and Ryan Miller took third.
In the fourth flight, Bryan Griffin, Brian Anderson, Randy Selby, and Steve Anglea claimed first place. Second was the team of Matthew Crumpton, James Crumpton, Bob Dilbeck and Chuck Stein. Danny Gaylor, Tim Lynch, Dave Mason and Chris Pope came in third.
All golfers competed to win the closest to the pin and longest drive contests. Custom-fit drivers were awarded to the winners of the closet to the pin contest. Murray Bandy was the closest to the pin in the first flight on No. 5, Chad Snidow in the second flight on No. 8, Jeff Hughes in the third flight on No. 11 and Matthew Crumpton was the closest in the fourth flight on No. 13.
Longest drive winners were Rob Cushman, Jason Clark, Kerry Morrison, and Jason Raughton on No. 18 and all received a $50 pro shop gift certificate. The golf gift package at Barnsley Gardens Resort was awarded to Steve Crane who was the lucky winner of the par-3 poker contest.
