MARIETTA —
Registration is open for the 2012 Atlanta Amateur Match Play Championship, scheduled for Oct. 4 to 7 at Rivermont Golf and Country Club in Johns Creek.
This event is open to male amateur golfers, and the field will consist of 120 players with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes. The format is match play, preceded by 18-hole stroke play qualifying. The low 31 golfers and the defending champion advance.
Last year, Brandon Nelson of Roswell won the 93rd annual edition of the event on his home course.
Qualified players must enter online at the Georgia State Golf Association’s website, gsga.org, by Sept. 12.
