Entries will be closing on Aug. 18 for the 22nd annual Georgia Public Links Championship, which takes place Sept. 11-12 at BridgeMill Athletic Club in Canton.
This event is open to male amateur golfers who are members of a Georgia State Golf Association member club that is open to public play. Entrants must not have held privileges since Jan. 1 at a club that does not permit public play.
The field will consist of 72 players with the lowest USGA Handicap Indexes and 72 drawn by lottery. Exemptions are given to flight winners from the previous year and three to the host club. The format is 36 holes of flighted stroke play.
Last year, teenager Ollie Schniederjans of Powder Springs birdied the 16th and 17th holes to move to 8-under-par 134 for the Championship and held off a charge from Matt Nagy of Kennesaw to win the Championship at Overlook Golf Links in LaGrange.
Qualified players must enter online at gsga.org by clicking the online registration quick link.
The entry period is also currently open for the Georgia Women’s Team Championship (through Sept. 8) and the Atlanta Amateur Match Play Championship (through Sept. 15).
