Dalton’s David Noll Jr. was one of five winners for the Georgia State Golf Association’s team during singles competition on Monday, but the Georgia PGA team held on for the overall title after the second and final day at the Billy Peters Cup.
At the event played at the Capital City Club’s Brookhaven course in Atlanta, Noll beat David Potts 2-and-1 in the match-play event, but the GPGA team won 16-8.
The GSGA team won five singles matches, halved two and lost nine on the second day after trailing 6-2 after four-ball matches on Sunday.

Noll tied for sixth at state Mid-Am
SAVANNAH — Defending champion David Noll Jr. of Dalton shot an even-par round of 71 and was tied for sixth place after Friday’s opening round of the Georgia Mid-Amateur Championship at The Savannah Golf Club.
