Rocky Face resident Lisa Ann Sellers closed with a 5-over-par 77 Thursday at Governors Towne Club in Acworth, good for a two-day tally of 159 and a fourth-place finish in the third flight of the Georgia Top 60 Women’s Classic.
Sellers, who birdied eight holes in the final round of the 36-hole Georgia State Golf Association event, finished 31st overall in the 54-hole player field.
In the fourth flight, Resaca’s Rochelle Weaver shot 84-88 — 172 to finish seventh, one place ahead of Chatsworth’s Sue King, who went 88-86 — 174. Weaver and King were 47th and 48th.
Alpharetta’s Emily Kurey, who is 17 and will be a senior at Centennial High this year, took the title after being the only player in the field to post consecutive rounds under par on the 5,969-yard layout. She followed Wednesday’s 69 with a 71 in the final round, leaving her three shots up on Lookout Mountain’s Mary Alice Murphy, the first flight winner.

• Dalton’s Hudson Keener shaved two strokes off his opening round at the Dogwood Invitational, but is unlikely to make the cut at the prestigious and highly competitive amateur tournament at Druid Hills Golf Club.
Keener, a former Northwest Whitfield High and LaGrange College standout, carded a 3-over-par 75 Thursday on the 6,860-yard layout.
While his score changed from the first day — he had four birdies and the same number of bogeys on Thursday — his position on the leaderboard did not. He remained in 66th place, where he’s tied with two others.
Bruce Woodall of Yancyville, N.C., a recent University of Virginia graduate, scorched the field with a 64. His second round was four shots better than the one carded by M.J. Maguire, who dropped from first to second and trails by a shot. However, Woodall was four strokes off the course record, set by 2007 Dogwood and 2012 U.S. Open champion Webb Simpson.
The field will be cut to the low 40 players and ties after today’s round for Saturday’s final round.
