St. Pat's race will benefit Special Olympics

The 25th running of the first (and maybe the only) Dalton St. Patrick’s Day Road Race is scheduled for Thursday.

The course begins and ends at First Presbyterian Church. Registration starts at 5 p.m., and the race will begin at 6:30. Entry fee is $20, and proceeds will benefit Dalton City Special Olympics.

Race-day registrants will not be guaranteed a T-shirt. To register in advance, visit active.com or download an entry form at carpetcapitalrunningclub.com. Forms can be mailed, along with a check payable to Dalton City Special Olympics, to P.O. Box 661, Dalton GA 30722.

Food and drinks will be served after the race. Awards will be given to first, second and third place in each group, in addition to the first overall male and female finishers. For information, contact Lisa Hughey at (706) 313-3404.
