Golfers have until Feb. 29 to enjoy $50 off team registration for the Whitfield Education Foundation’s 18th annual Select Shot Golf Tournament.
Everyone is invited to a great day of golf, food and fun by participating in this annual event on Monday, April 30. All tournament proceeds help fund innovative teaching grants in our local schools, which provide an opportunity for teachers to use new and creative ideas to motivate and challenge students.
Shotgun start time is 1 p.m. Space is limited, so please complete a registration form and return it to the foundation office as soon as possible to secure a spot in the tournament.
For now, the cost for a team of four to register is $500. Team registrations increase to $550 on March 1. Individual registrations are $150 each. These fees include green fees, cart, unlimited range balls, tournament favors and a buffet lunch catered by the Dalton Golf and Country Club. Trophies will be awarded to each member of the winning teams.
Presenting tournament sponsors are M.B. Kahn, Mohawk Industries, Perkins+Will and Windstream. A golfer who makes a hole-in-one on the ninth hole will win a brand new car from sponsor Pye Kia of Dalton.
The foundation has awarded more than $383,000 in grants since it was established in 1990 and is eager to continue increasing its investment in students and teachers.
Contact Mary Ellen Kinsey, executive director of the foundation, with any questions about the tournament or the foundation’s work in Whitfield County Schools. Reach her by email at wef@whitfield.k12.ga.us or by phone at (706) 217-6756.
