Concerts to benefit women and children's shelter
The WoodSongs Coffee House Dalton Chapter will host the first of a series of concerts to benefit the Providence Ministries Women and Children’s Shelter. The concerts will be at the Dalton Freight Depot at 305 S. Depot St. in downtown.
The concerts will be on the last Saturday of the month with the doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and music beginning at 7.
On Saturday, Jan. 30, David Lewis Crawford will appear with Spatial Effects (Slightly Bent Bluegrass). Appearing on Feb. 27 will be Atlanta singer/songwriter Kathy Reed. Dalton’s very own Brookwoods will bring their voices to the Freight Depot on March 27. Earl Brackin and Gary Stanley will entertain on April 24, with other performers to be announced. The concert series is sponsored in part by the Downtown Dalton Development Authority.
Seating is limited with reservations preferred. Adult tickets are $8 and students are $5. Children under 12 are free. Concessions will be available.

Art programs growing at the Guild
The Creative Arts Guild has added new art programming to its schedule of ongoing and session classes. These classes include multi-media, painting, drawing, cartooning and pottery for children, teens and adults. Additionally, the Guild will be offering art for special needs children.
