Georgia Public Broadcasting is excited to bring The Moth Radio Hour to the Georgia airwaves on Sunday, September 7 at 7 PM. This program will feature true stories told live on stage without scripts, notes, props, or accompaniment. Each hour mixes humorous and heartbreaking tales told with honesty, bravery and wit.
The Moth, a New York-based not-for-profit organization that originated on St. Simon’s Island was founded by poet and novelist George Dawes Green. Moth evenings feature true stories on thoroughly modern themes by wildly divergent raconteurs. Each show is cast with carefully selected individuals, who have been coached to share tales from their lives and times with no script and no notes. Beyond a mere theatrical performance, Moth events are social gatherings where entertainment, enlightenment and festivity merge.
