The Creative Arts Guild’s Studio 111 takes first place at Sydney Pollack Invitational

Team 111, the Creative Arts Guild’s competitive gymnastics team, competed at the Sydney Pollack Invitational in Douglasville recently. The team’s Level 2 gymnasts placed first overall at the meet competing against teams from Georgia counties including Carroll, Troup, Cobb and Bowden.

The Team’s Level 2 and Level 4 gymnasts achieved personal best scores of the season with Elyse Rann, Amanda Torres and Ava Knowles placing first All Around in their respective age bracket. The Level 4 gymnasts placed All-Around as well; Avery Lusk second, Olivia Ross fourth and Amber Fischer fifth.

The Sydney Pollack Invitational marks the fifth meet the team has competed in during its inaugural season.

“Despite starting late in the season with our competitive program, we have had much success,” Minnette Lusk, the gymnastics director for the Guild said. “These gymnasts and their parents are incredibly supportive of the gymnastics program and the Guild. We are fortunate to have so many students committed to their personal growth as they advance in the sport,” Lusk said.

“The Creative Arts Guild has provided gymnastics and tumbling programs for the community for decades and we are thrilled and proud of the early successes of our inaugural team,” executive director Terry Tomasello said.
