Two receive Leadeship Scholarships

Chick-fil-A has awarded Leadership Scholarships to restaurant team members Wendy Ramirez and Dawn Duncan from Dalton to help them reach their educational goals.

They received the $1,000 scholarships from Chick-fil-A franchised operator Tom Woodby at the restaurant in Dalton. They are the 63rd and 64th team members from that location to receive the honor. Both attend Dalton State College. Ramirez is studying childhood education and Duncan is studying medical office assistance.

“Wendy and Dawn are now part of a 36-year legacy of more than 25,000 Chick-fil-A restaurant team members who have received this scholarship as they pursue their educational goals,” said Woodby. “They represent the hard-working and service-oriented attributes that characterize the more than 50,000 Chick-fil-A team members around the country. We are very proud of their accomplishments.”

Chick-fil-A founder Truett Cathy wrote a personal check more than 54 years ago to support the college dream of an employee at his original Dwarf House diner. He formalized that support in 1973, just seven years after opening his first Chick-fil-A chain restaurant, by creating the Chick-fil-A Leadership Scholarship.
