Photo Fun with Your Digital Camera and Computer offered at DSC

Submitted by Dalton State College

A digital camera and computer can produce photograph magic together, and in the new Dalton State College class Photo Fun with Your Digital Camera and Computer, students will learn the wizardry to make it happen.

The Continuing Education class is offered Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the James E. Brown Center. Instructor Lori Hedden will lead students in hands-on learning activities as she teaches them how to download photographs from a digital camera, cell phone, the Internet and e-mail.

“With the holidays approaching, the timing for this one-morning workshop is ideal,” according to Kelly Snyder, personal enrichment program coordinator. “This is a wonderful opportunity for students to learn how to do some really cool stuff with their photographs using a digital camera and computer. At $50, this active, hands-on workshop is also a bargain.”

“Once photos are downloaded the fun can really begin,” Hedden said. “That’s when I’ll be teaching how to save photos, edit them, and send to family and friends. During class we’ll also cover how to properly use a flash drive for storing photos and files and demonstrate how to transfer that information to other computers or take to photo printing shops. There are many great Web sites to bookmark where people can upload pictures for editing and printing, and students will be exploring those. We’ll be looking at how to make a variety of fun gift items with our photos on these Web sites, too.”

Photo Fun with Your Digital Camera and Computer is Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the James E. Brown Center. This class will be packed with fun and learning new skills that can be used again and again. Class size is limited. Call (706) 272-4454 or log on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce to register.
