College admissions are becoming increasingly more competitive and savvy students are wisely choosing to take both the SAT and ACT tests for consideration by schools. To help students prepare for peak performance on the ACT exam, the Center for Continuing Education at Dalton State College is offering a one afternoon ACT Prep Boot Camp with veteran instructor Dianne Bruce on Saturday, Dec. 5, from 1 to 6 p.m.
“It makes sense for students not to put all of their eggs in one basket,” said Kelly Snyder, personal enrichment program coordinator for Continuing Education. “Some students perform better on the ACT exam, and several schools actually prefer or require an ACT score from applicants. Dianne is an expert on test prep, and this is the final opportunity students will have for this class through the Continuing Education program at Dalton State.”
Bruce will teach students the “art” of test-taking needed to conquer the ACT exam. Students will gain familiarity with the test, a necessary component for optimum performance, and will develop the kind of mastery that builds confidence and self-assurance when taking the ACT.
Extensive review of all ACT test areas (English, math, reading, writing and science reasoning) will be the focus of Boot Camp as well as other test-taking strategies including exam time management.
Pre-registration is required, and class size is limited. To register, log on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce or call (706) 272-4454.
