DSC Continuing ed offers Powerpoint classes

Powerpoint software has become the industry standard for making professional presentations from the classroom to the boardroom. This program makes it easy to organize, illustrate and deliver ideas in an interesting, engaging way, if you know how to use it.

For students or professionals who need to learn the finer points of Powerpoint, the Continuing Education Center at Dalton State College is offering Awesome Powerpoint 2007 Presentations — Levels I and II. Level I begins Nov. 16.

After successfully completing Level I, students will be able to create slides, overheads and handouts that combine text and graphics, according to Kelly Snyder, personal enrichment program coordinator.

“Instructor Lori Hedden will guide students as they learn to create title slides, bulleted list slides and clip art slides,” Snyder said. “This course will also teach how to add speaker notes to slides and how to spell-check presentations. Students will leave this course with a solid foundation in Powerpoint. Powerpoint offers lots of creative freedom and really punches up a presentation. It has become a must-have office skill for many professionals, and is a great skill for job-seekers to have on their resumes.”

Students must pre-register for the class by logging on to www.daltonstate.edu/cce or calling (706) 272-4454.
