Whitfield County Schools holding kindergarten registration

DALTON — Whitfield County Schools will continue holding its kindergarten registration at the school system’s Support Services at 201 E. Tyler St. in Dalton until March 26. Hours are from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Friday. No appointments are necessary, and your child does not need to be present at registration; however, your child must be present at the kindergarten assessment.

Please bring the following items:

• Georgia proof of immunization form 3231

• Georgia eye/ear/dental certificate (form 3300)

• Proof of residence in parent’s name (i.e., rent receipt, lease agreement, settlement statement, utility bill that shows “service address” or, if family is living with another family, notarized letter and utility bill from that person)

• Child’s Social Security card

• Birth certificate

Kindergartners must be 5 years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010. Staff will conduct a simple school readiness assessment at the child’s school Monday, March 22 through Thursday, March 25.
