Bill seeks to give teachers another option with certification fees

DALTON — Georgia teachers could soon have a new way to pay their certification fees.

The state House of Representatives has passed House Bill 905, which would add credit cards to checks and money orders as one of the options teachers can use to pay for certification. The bill has also passed the Senate Education and Youth Committee and is waiting on action by the Senate Rules Committee. Rep. Tom Dickson, R-Cohutta, one of the bill’s co-sponsors, said he expects it will pass the Senate as well.
