Shaw Hospitality Group wins award from Interior Design magazine

Interior Design magazine named the Factory collection by Shaw Hospitality Group a “Designer’s Choice” winner in the Best of Year Awards 2009. Interior Design received more than 1,100 Best of Year Award entries, and more than 40,000 online votes were cast by the design community during the competition.

Factory, which also won the IIDA/HD Product Design Award in the flooring/carpeting/rug category at HD 2009 Expo & Conference, was inspired by the 1934 Museum of Modern Art exhibition “Machine Art” which recognized the beauty of objects created without artistic intention. The Best of Year Awards recognizes superior interior design projects and products in 64 categories.

Shaw Hospitality Group is part of Dalton-based Shaw Industries Group, which is a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. Shaw Industries is the world’s largest carpet manufacturer with $5 billion in annual sales and approximately 26,000 associates.
