The Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce Annual Banquet will feature Georgia House Speaker David Ralston as the keynote speaker. The deadline for ticket sales is noon on Tuesday. Anyone wishing to purchase a ticket for the event may call the Chamber of Commerce at (706) 278-7373.
The banquet will be on Monday, Sept. 13, at the Northwest Georgia Trade & Convention Center. The reception begins at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. The cost per person is $60 for chamber members and $75 for non-members. Corporate tables of 10 are also available for purchase.
Program year accomplishments will be highlighted by outgoing Chairman of the Board David Gregg (Alliance National Bank). Included in the evening will be the “passing of the gavel” from Gregg to incoming chairman Lynn Laughter (Laughter & Jones Financial Management).

Julian Saul, founder of Queen Carpets and retired president of Shaw Industries, was the featured speaker at United Way Young Leaders Society Lunch with Leaders on May 16 at the Outback Steakhouse. United Way’s Young Leaders Society was formed in 2006 to address an identified need to develop the next generation of community leaders, volunteers and philanthropists.
