Three local floorcovering companies were named to Training magazine’s “Training Top 125.”
Dalton-based Shaw Industries (18), Calhoun-based Mohawk Industries (68) and Dalton-based Tandus (96) made the list recognizing companies that provide the best training to their workers.
The rankings were released this month.
PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP was the top ranked company, followed by Automatic Data Processing Inc., Vanguard, Verizon and KPMG LLP. Other companies on the list with ties to the area include Wells Fargo & Co. (27), BB&T; Corp. (30), Edward Jones (31), McDonald’s USA LLC (33), Bank of America (75), Century 21 Real Estate LLC (84), Windstream Communications (102), Coldwell Banker Real Estate LLC (113) and UPS (119).
The Top 125 ranking is based on several benchmarking statistics including total training budget; percentage of payroll; number of training hours per employee program; goals, evaluation, measurement and workplace surveys; hours of training per employee annually; and detailed formal programs.
“The Training Top 125 companies not only provided stellar training in the face of continued economic adversity, but detailed their efforts in our most comprehensive and rigorous Top application to date,” said Joyceann Cooney-Garippa, Training’s group publisher and show director.
Companies considered for the Top 125 ranking completed a detailed application, which was scored both quantitatively by an outside research and statistical data company and qualitatively by Training magazine editors and Top 10 Hall of Fame representatives.
The Top 125 ranking was determined by assessing a range of qualitative and quantitative factors, including financial investment in employee development, the scope of development programs and how closely such development efforts are linked to business goals and objectives.
