Kelly Fletcher, owner of North Georgia Business Machines, was re-elected as a business owner representative, and Kasey Carpenter, owner of the Oakwood Cafe, was elected as a property owner representative to the Downtown Dalton Development Authority board at the DDDA’s recent town hall meeting.
Board members are elected by business owners and property owners in the downtown development area. The DDDA board also voted to cut the agency’s tax rate to 1 mill from 2.5 mills. The Dalton City Council earlier this year voted to give the agency $60,000 to offset the revenue that would be lost from that cut.
