Chamber accepting nominations for Emerging Leaders Institute
The Dalton-Whitfield Chamber of Commerce is accepting applications for the Emerging Leaders Institute Class of 2010.
The goal of the program is to provide each participant with the foundation of basic leadership skills and knowledge. The program is designed to develop skilled, committed and action-oriented leaders.
The curriculum was developed by the Fanning Leadership Institute and includes six sessions over several months. Each session begins at 8 a.m. and concludes by 5 p.m. The topics include Understanding Leadership, Effective Communication, Group Problem Solving and Decision Making, Managing Conflict, Conducting Successful Meetings, Local Governance, Community Leaders’ Role in Economic Development, Valuing Community Diversity, Group Dynamics, Building Communities through Partnerships and Collaboration and Leading Community Change.
Nominations and applications can be accessed online at www.daltonchamber.org (click on the Leadership Development page). Applications and nominations are being accepted through Nov. 27.
