Walmart names Mohawk Home supplier of the year

Calhoun-based Mohawk Home has been named Supplier of the Year for the Homelines category by Walmart stores at Walmart’s annual vendor summit meetings at headquarters in Bentonville, Ark.

Mohawk Home is a division of Mohawk Industries and supplies Walmart a variety of products worldwide, including area rugs, bath mats, doormats and kitchen floorcoverings.

Mohawk Home was recognized for product innovation, joint key business measurement performance, high standard service levels and Mohawk Industries’ commitment to the environment. Mohawk Home was the first recipient of Walmart’s “Sustainability Award” in 2008.

“This is an honor bestowed on but a handful of suppliers, and while it’s a humbling experience to stand with some of the finest companies in America, we’re proud of our accomplishments and proud of our associates in Calhoun and Dalton, Ga., and Bentonville, Ark., for the energy, effort and passion they each put into making Mohawk the company it is recognized to be,” said Jim Quist, Mohawk Home vice president of sales, who received the award on behalf of the company.
