J&J/Invision wins design awards
Representatives from Dalton-based J&J / Invision recently attended the DOC Awards celebration held in New York City, where the company received three DOC Awards. The DOC Awards, sponsored by Solutia Ultron, honor carpet mills for “outstanding achievement in product design and designers for superior achievement in contract design.” The company received one product award as well as two project awards.
J&J / Invision received a 2008 DOC Product Award for Weathered Steel, a member of the Altered Elements Collection. This linear pattern, released in 2008, was designed to emulate the natural patina of rain on steel. J&J / Invision also received two DOC Project Awards — one for Suave, used in the CBT Architects design of the Analysis Group, and the other for Brilliant and Bright Idea, used in the Lauren Rottet Architecture and Design’s creation for a global management company in Houston.
The DOC Competition, named after Robert F. Docherty, was established in 1988 and is conducted annually by an independent jury.
Founded in 1957, J&J Industries is a family-owned and operated commercial carpet manufacturer producing carpet under J&J / Invision brand.
