Mohawk subisdiary Dal-Tile to lay off workers in Pa.

Tile manufacturer Dal-Tile, owned by Calhoun-based Mohawk Industries, will lay off 105 workers at a plant in Gettysburg, Pa.

Company officials said a slowdown in the construction industry is the reason for the job cuts. The plant employs about 275.

Dal-Tile is the largest manufacturer and distributor of ceramic tile in the country. It employs more than 10,000 workers and has eight manufacturing facilities (seven in the United States and one in Mexico), five regional distribution centers and more than 250 sales service centers throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico.
