“Southern Business & Development” magazine has named Dalton/Whitfield County as one of 101 great locations in the Southern automotive corridor.
Dalton was one of seven Georgia areas named to the list. The others were Columbus, Harris County, Hinesville/Liberty County, LaGrange/Troup County, Macon and Rome.
The magazine cited Dalton’s proximity to a planned Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga and its location on I-75, as well as the existing Shiroki plant, which supplies automobile parts to Nissan, Toyota and Mitsubishi.
