Kinsey earns 'green' designation
Joe Kinsey, a native of Dalton and a graduate of Dalton High School, has earned his LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) professional accreditation from the Green Building Certification Institute.
Kinsey is an engineer intern with McKim & Creed, an engineering, surveying and planning firm. He works in the company’s Charlotte office. He is the son of Beth and Ridley Kinsey of Dalton.
Established by the U.S. Green Building Council, LEED is a rating system that encourages the use of sustainable green building and development practices. Kinsey joined McKim & Creed in 2007. He received his bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He has experience in roadway design, site layout for commercial and residential projects, sedimentation and erosion control, grading and stormwater management plans, flood studies, utility design and permitting and construction administration.
