Due to demand, the Dalton-Whitfield Community Development Corp. has scheduled another free Homebuyer Seminar for Feb. 23 at 9 a.m. at the Whitfield County Administrative Building No. 1, 301 W. Crawford St.
“There are so many different types of loans available and ways to receive down payment and closing cost assistance. Without a working knowledge regarding the intricacies of purchasing a home, sometimes decisions are made that the new homeowner later regrets,” said housing counselor Ingrid Gossler.
Topics will include:
• Credit and Credit Reports
• Mortgage Loan Process and Application to Closing
• What to expect from a Real Estate Professional?
• Down Payment Assistance Programs and Fair Housing Issues
• Home Inspectors and Homeowner’s Insurance
Attendees will receive certificates verifying participation. These certificates may be used to access state and federal assistance programs.
To register, call (706) 876-1630. Organizers say everyone must register so enough lunch and snacks can be reserved.
