IVC US adding 30 jobs

Thirty more jobs: a pretty nice anniversary present for the area.

IVC US is celebrating its one-year anniversary of domestic production this month by adding a third shift to its manufacturing line. The addition of a third shift will enable IVC US to extend production from three days a week to five days a week. Perhaps more importantly, the move will also create more than 30 jobs in the Dalton community.

“We are starting 2012 in the most exciting way possible — with growth,” said Xavier Steyaert, CEO of IVC US. “This announcement is the first of many exciting things to come from IVC US this year.”

The new jobs will bring total employment to almost 200, which is much greater than the 115 jobs company officials expected over the first three years of operations when plans for the facility were announced in 2009. The 520,000-square-foot vinyl manufacturing plant is off the South Bypass.

In addition to hiring a third shift, IVC is also starting the year with a newly revamped website. The site includes product information, company news and details about IVC’s green initiatives. In coordination with the new website, IVC US also launched a Facebook page to connect and communicate with customers through social media.

“Last year we opened our new plant and U.S. headquarters, hired more than 100 new employees of which Paul Murfin as our new president and launched Flexitec V and Itec Contract Floors,” Steyaert said. “This year we will show the industry that IVC US is the future of resilient flooring.”
