Kent Clauson has joined Mohawk Industries as vice president of brand management, a newly created position. He will be responsible for brand strategy for all Mohawk commercial and residential brands across all brand channels.
Clauson comes to Mohawk from Armstrong World Industries, where he was general manager of marketing-flooring and led a team responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies targeted to all company distribution channels, including residential, retail, building and commercial markets. Prior to this position, he was commercial flooring channel manager for Armstrong. He has also held marketing management positions with American Woodmark and REHAU.
Clauson earned a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Shepherd University, and a master’s of science in marketing from the Johns Hopkins University Carey Business School.
“Mohawk offers many of the strongest, most recognized brands in flooring,” Clauson said. “Effectively managing our brands is critical to protect and enhance the tremendous equity they have in the marketplace.”
“Kent brings exceptional experience and expertise to our marketing team,” said David Duncan, vice president of marketing. “He’ll work closely with our brand managers to make sure we have the strategy and positioning in place to take our already powerful brands to the next level.”
