Shaw Floors featured in 'Kitchen of the Year'
House Beautiful magazine once again selected Shaw Floors to be a sponsor of its second annual “Kitchen of the Year” at New York’s Rockefeller Plaza last month.
Hosted by Food Network star and House Beautiful contributing editor Ina Garten, “the Barefoot Contessa,” the “Kitchen of the Year” featured Shaw hardwood floors along with more than 20 other home-furnishing and lifestyle brands. The space was modeled on Garten’s own kitchen in East Hampton, N.Y. Each featured product was hand-selected by Garten.
“Shaw is honored to once again be part of the House Beautiful Kitchen of the Year,” said Mollie Surratt, Shaw’s marketing communications manager. “It’s exciting for our beautiful hardwood flooring to be showcased in this stylish setting in the heart of Rockefeller Plaza. Shaw’s brand is prominent within project signage and collateral and, as in all our marketing efforts, our primary goal is to continually increase brand awareness and drive consumers to Shaw retailers.”
Garten selected Shaw’s Fremont hardwood flooring to be featured in the kitchen. Shaw’s sponsorship received multiple mentions in the August 2009 issue of House Beautiful. The floors were also featured on the Today Show and on WNBC during coverage of the “Kitchen of the Year.” To commemorate the success of the event, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg deemed July 20-24 “House Beautiful Kitchen Week.”
