Crews tear down the old tanning salon building at the intersection of Waugh Street and Thornton Avenue in Dalton on Monday. City officials plan to redesign that intersection to increase the turning radius for westbound traffic on Waugh to turn north onto Thornton. They say that project will also give the city the opportunity to do something about the sidewalk on the north side of Waugh, which drops off steeply near the intersection.
