Dalton High’s big year in cross country, which included a Region 7-4A title for the Catamounts and a return to the state meet for the Lady Cats, was a team effort, but it was the example and leadership of senior Andrew Bruner, left, and junior Carina Nieto that set the tone for the rest of the team in practice and races. Bruner and Nieto have been selected The Daily Citizen’s All-Area Cross Country Runners of the Year, and the success of their teammates is reflected in the presence of six total Dalton runners in the all-area lineup.
